Equity in Health in a New Society

How does one describe the modern knowledge society? Its implications for current human development, especially in the health field, constantly involve social and ethical issues. In the quest for an overall and humanly fair equity, the panels on the first day of CRICS V will discuss ideas and concepts that both raise new challenges and should point to a democratic diversity, rich in pathways and solutions.

This exciting and unique set of invitations to reflection will take place beginning at 10:00 AM on April 25, right after the keynote address by Professor Pierre Lévy on the topic of Cyberdemocracy. Check the names of the speakers in what promises to be an unforgettable encounter.

Pathways for Health Education

With the arrival of Internet and other new technologies, knowledge managers have been forced to change their way of working. Immersed in these modern times, how are information professionals developing new relationships with their target public, the people searching for knowledge or who simply want to be informed? Is the Web being properly used in such a way as to guarantee equitable access? And what about distance education? Is it really efficient? In short, what should be the stance and degree of organization and updating among those who manage all these valuable and indispensable data in the health field? These and other questions will be on the table for discussion all day long on April 27, leading the focus of the third plenary session at CRICS V.
This date, the last day of the Congress, will be entirely devoted to discussing the role and work experience of various information professionals. As always, the panel discussions beginning at 09:00 AM will include a broad range of renowned guest speakers. For more information, check the CRICS V program.

The Advantages of Electronic Registration

The second stage of registration for CRICS V is already available. To guarantee your presence and the ease of E-credentials, the Congress organizers suggest that you plan to confirm your participation by the March 31, 2001 deadline. By registering until this deadline you also get a small discount.
Remember that from April 1 on, registration can only be done at the Palace of Conventions in Havana, Cuba. The registration fee includes your briefcase with the Congress materials, your certificate of participation, and your presence at the welcoming cocktail party.

Cuba requires entrance visa

All visitors to Cuba must get their tourist visas stamped in their passports. This authorization, which can be requested individually or in groups, can be obtained at the nearest Cuban Consulate. Some travel agencies and airline companies can also provide this service, making your travel arrangements easier and saving you time.
For residents of Brazil only, there is a CRICS V travel package which includes airline tickets, lodging, and transfers. In addition to the affordable price, you can pay for your package deal by installment.
